Mathias Olofsson is a Sydney based actor with international training and work experience in the areas of film and theatre. Currently, he is collaborating and performing with Hurrah Hurrah Co in their latest show “Trade” which received great reviews at The Bakehouse Theatre at Adelaide Fringe Festival in Feb/Mar. It will also be performed at Old 505 Theatre 4th-15th April.
He has previously performed at Sydney Opera House in their latest program Creative Play, worked alongside director Sarah Vickery and composer Maria Alfonsine in their interactive performance art project “Babelism: Love & Memory”, which was performed at Metanoia Theatre at The Mechanic's Institute as part of Melbourne Fringe Festival in September 2016. He starred together with Alicia González in the installation “Lemon Tree” at blank_space Gallery, Surry Hills, and in Archway1 Theatre Company's production of Jean-Paul Sartre's “No Exit”. Short film credits include “Old World” and “Abyss”, directed by Jermaine Yuen. The latter gave Mathias a nomination for Outstanding Performance in the 23rd Sydney Film School Festival screening at the Chauvel Cinema 2015.
2015/2016 also included work with Opera Australia in “The Eighth Wonder”, “Cosi Fan Tutte”, “Turandot” and Handa Opera on Sydney Harbour's “Aida”, as well as “Sound Of Music” at the Capitol Theatre, Sydney.
Mathias graduated from Wendelsberg's Theatre and Drama School in Gothenburg, Sweden in 2012 and has since honed his skills through Acting Techniques at NIDA, Michael Chekhov Technique with Natela Dzuliashvili, The Showreel Course at Screenwise and Contemporary Bouffon Workshop with Jo Turner.
