Margarita Smirnova (or Tyshchenko) was born in a small village near Yekaterinburg, Russia. Whilst she studied acting and music, she worked on a boxing ring as a presenter in her hometown, as well as performed in a club as a professional background dancer with local pop singers.
Margarita immigrated with family to Australia in 2003, where she subsequently settled in and learnt to fence with coach Frank Bartolillo, a famous Australian competitor of the Athens Olympic Games in 2004. On the acting ladder, she appeared as an extra on the long-running soap opera "Home and Away" in 2015, a period drama miniseries set in an inner-city maternity ward "Love Child" and a Qantas advertising project.
In the same year, Margarita went to acting school at Darlo Drama and graduated on two levels with teachers/actresses Deborah Jones and Amanda Stephens-Lee. At the end of each course, she performed in theatre with a monologue and a standout scene.
With great relish for learning and the view of continual improvement, Margarita is on course as a faithful, restlessly determined and long-form performer!
