Jonathan Hickey's performance journey began at the age of 9 where he was classically trained as a boy soprano for the St John’s Cathedral choir. In 2010 he received a 12-month scholarship with AFS to live and study in Italy; during his exchange he learnt how to speak fluent Italian.
He then went on to study musical theatre at Queensland Conservatorium. His university credits include Billy Bigelow in “Carousel” (2013), Mrs Mead in “Hair” (2013) and Rapunzel's Prince in “Into the Woods” (2014).
He is a multi instrumentalist having attained his Associate (AMus) diploma on violin in 2010 and also enjoys composing music and playing guitar in his family band Chinatown Carpark.
Jonathan gained national prominence this year with his breakout performance as Fabrizzio in “The Light In The Piazza” at the Victorian Arts Centre.
